How the Generation Game sparks open conversations across generations

Hide & Seek is an online marketing agency specializing in SEO, Google & social ads, and festival marketing. The young and energetic team is made up of online ads experts working in a close-knit, informal atmosphere. As part of a team-building day, Hide & Seek decided to play the Generation Game: an interactive workshop designed to strengthen understanding between different generations.

The challenge

Despite a strong team dynamic, Hide & Seek noticed that differences in communication and expectations between generations sometimes caused confusion. They sought more insight into how colleagues think, communicate, and prioritize.

The solution

Through the Generation Game, team members took on the role of another generation and discussed current topics such as workload, sustainability, and flexibility. The game provided a safe and lighthearted setting to address assumptions, stereotypes, and blind spots. Its playful approach created space for genuine conversations and new insights.

The impact

A Gen X'er who speaks out like a Gen Z about sustainability? “Very important, but my packages must be delivered within 24 hours.” The comment elicits laughter, but also reflection. An afternoon full of humor and connection, where underlying frictions emerged that would otherwise have gone unnoticed. Team members recognized how personal beliefs are influenced by generational differences and learned to better understand each other's perspectives. The result? More mutual understanding and a stronger, more resilient team.

Thanks to team UNSNOOZED, we now view generational differences in the workplace differently. The workshop provided great eye-openers and more understanding within the team. It’s a highly relevant theme, and UNSNOOZED presents it in a super way! So… Go go go!
