Workshop
BIVAK and BRAVO! College
How organizations in the tech sector connect with the new generation

BIVAK is an initiative of BRAVO! College, Ondernemers Contact Cranendonck (OCC), Kr8tig, the Municipality of Cranendonck, and Vocaal. The goal? To train young people locally and guarantee them a job after graduation, keeping the region both livable and future-proof. Companies are able to fill vacancies faster, and young professionals stay to live and work in the region. During joint sessions, schools and partner companies come together to address a crucial question: how do you collaborate effectively with the younger generation?
The challenge
In the construction and technology sectors, employers often encounter friction. They work with young people who are sometimes still in their teens, which can lead to misunderstandings and frustration. Are these clashes simply a matter of age, or are they rooted in deeper generational differences? And more importantly: how can mentor/employer respond effectively without getting lost in assumptions or frustrations?
The solution
UNSNOOZED developed the interactive workshop “Does Gen Z Work?” specifically for BIVAK and BRAVO! College. The workshop zoomed in on generational differences and the changing work mindset of young people. We explored what motivates Gen Z, how communication styles are shifting, and why traditional approaches don’t always land. Using real-life examples, statements, and practical tips, participants discovered how to better meet the needs of young talent.
A key insight from the session: organizations that clearly articulate and live their core values are more successful in attracting and retaining young employees.
The impact
The session created recognition, awareness, and concrete action points. Employers learned three clear steps to improve collaboration with Gen Z. Most importantly, they left with a renewed conviction: the new generation does want to work - as long as they are taken seriously and their workplace is willing to listen.
